Julia’s Florist, located in Wilmington, North Carolina, is an everyday floral company. As the largest and oldest florist in Wilmington, they produce and deliver arrangements for a variety of occasions, including birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and sympathy flowers. Julia’s Florist prioritizes the satisfaction of their customers through their user-friendly website and fresh, quality flowers bought directly from farms in Miami, Florida.

Katelyn Moore began her career at Julia’s Florist 13 years ago in sales and was eventually promoted to store manager. During this time, she met and married her husband, who was a fellow employee. After years of Katelyn running the store, the previous owners were ready to retire and saw Katelyn and her husband as the perfect fit.

As Katelyn began discussions with the previous owners to purchase the business, they connected her with Shameena Broach, a branch manager at FNB in Wilmington, who had worked with them in the past. Katelyn thought that an SBA loan would be the best option for her, so Shameena put her in contact with Mark Moreno, one of our experienced SBA Business Development Officers. Mark was able to assist Katelyn through the SBA lending process from getting initial documents together to preparing for the closing table. According to Katelyn, Mark made the process more manageable so she could continue running her business.

Katelyn had this to say about his experience partnering with Mark Moreno:

Mark was amazing! From the beginning, he broke down the process so it was digestible and easy for us. I know a lot about flowers, but have never needed a business loan, so the fact that Mark took time to make the process easier was so helpful. My husband and I could tell that he really wanted to help us achieve our goal and make it to the finish line. I would recommend Mark and the team at FNB Small Business Finance to anyone!

We wish Katelyn the very best and look forward to the next chapter for Julia’s Florist!
